Transforming Education:
The SCW Model

MISSION-ALIGNED IMPACT

SCW exists to ensure every child—regardless of location, background, or ability—has access to safe, quality learning environments. With over 130 projects completed across eight countries, our sustainable, community-led approach improves educational outcomes while fostering dignity, resilience, and long-term ownership.

How It Works: Key Steps in the SCW Process

1

SITE SELECTION

Community leaders, the Ministry of Education, and SCW jointly identify high-need areas.

2

PARTICIPATORY DESIGN

SCW leads design with input from all stakeholders—ensuring local relevance and best-in-class building standards.

2

3

PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT

Clear commitments from SCW for design, material quality, and construction oversight; the municipality for site provision and contractor payment; the community for labor and post-construction maintenance and the Ministry of Education for qualified teachers.

4

CONSTRUCTION & OVERSIGHT

Materials are stored securely and inspected, and communities contribute volunteer hours.

4

5

SUSTAINABLE HANDOVER

The community takes ownership—with schools built to last for generations.

    Doubling Your Impact

Every dollar we receive, we maximize by finding ways to leverage your donations. How? We partner with local volunteers, government agencies, and NGOs that commit to matching donations or putting up the remaining funding and resources we need. That means for every dollar you raise, we can use that donation to double your impact.

Some kids ride buses to school.

Others walk for miles—through forests, across rivers, and up mountains—because education is worth it.

At SCW, we’re working to bring schools closer and make the path to learning a little easier, safer, and brighter for every child. 🥾📚
